Design Report Sea Defence - Breskens

The village of Breskens is located in the south-western part of the Netherlands at the entrance of the Western Scheldt. To restore the centre of the village the present sea defence will be relocated in a more seaward direction.

Svašek Hydraulics has written the design report.

First, after consultation of with all parties involved, a list of demands, wishes and boundary conditions has been formulated. With this list several alternatives were developed and each of the alternatives was engineered on a conceptional basis.

Finally one design was selected in co-operation with the municipality, licensing authorities and city planners. The selected design was engineered in detail.
